The company was born as "L'Aromatika srl" in 1997, from an idea of Massimo Renda, the Borbone founder. Thanks to the experience gained in the small family roastery, Massimo immediately understood the business potential of automatic coffee machines and successfully dedicated himself to this ideal. Massimo initially entrusted the production of pods to an external company and dealt with the "door-to-door" sale of coffee pod machines.

Controlled quality along the entire supply chain
Ours is a responsible supply chain, which starts with the plantations. The quality of Caffè Borbone starts from the choice of raw materials and is confirmed thanks to continuous checks at every stage productive, to offer you only the best, always.
A responsible supply chain, from plantations to industry
For us, the responsible management of resources and the traceability of raw materials are fundamental, starting from raw coffee.
In fact, we have started purchasing certified supply batches, through Olam Food Ingredients' At Source program, which ensures:
- traceability of origin
- verification by third parties, also of the application of the Supplier Code of Olam Food Ingredients
- initiatives and programs aimed at the economic, social and environmental development of farmers
In this way, we not only ensure access to quality raw materials, but we are able to protect and increase the eco-sustainability of the entire cultivation process.
To date, 30% of the total coffee is purchased from the "At Source verified" supply chain, with the aim of reaching 80% by 2026.
We want to offer you an excellent coffee and we want to be sure that our products are always up to your expectations, from every point of view.
Our certifications are a guarantee of our attention to quality and sustainability, they are internationally recognized and promote food safety throughout the supply chain, from raw materials to packaging.

For us at Caffè Borbone, the satisfaction of our consumers comes first. For this we have obtained the ISO 9001 certification which defines the requirements of the company quality management system, focusing on customer satisfaction. ISO 9001 is important because it guarantees the customer that the company is committed to offering a quality product or service.

IFS CERTIFICATE
Caffè Borbone products are IFS certified and meet the safety and quality requirements in the food production sector. The IFS standard is internationally recognized within the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative).
The GFSI was born in 2000 from the collaboration between the members of the Consumer Goods Forum and aims to improve the management of food safety risks along the entire supply chain.

CERTIQUALITY
Our products are also good for the environment. That's why our 100% Friends of Nature filter-paper pods have obtained the certification for the granting of the "Compostable C.I.C" brand. Furthermore, their wrapping has obtained certification from Aticelca (the association of Italian paper technicians) which certifies its recyclability in paper.
